Mr. Matt Roberts teaches AP Psychology and Asian Studies at Pine-Richland High School and is an alumnus of the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia (NCTA) program at the University of Pittsburgh. 

He will present his thoughts on the relationship between Buddhism and recent research in the field of neuroscience. Topics for discussion will include human sensation and perception and the world of maya illusion, craving and the dopamine reward pathways, overcoming craving and addiction through mindfulness, and the influence of Buddhist practice on psychotherapy.This talk is designed to promote a public discourse on the relationship between humanities and sciences, cross-cultural psychology, and learning across the curriculum.
